Overview
Some engagements need less strategy and more execution. Product development launches, market entry projects, AI product introduction, and cross-functional programmes all share the same challenge: someone has to run the delivery, keep the trains on time, and make the calls when reality diverges from the plan.
This work covers the entire span, from feasibility scoping through go-live and beyond. Ten years of hands-on product and programme leadership across CEO, COO, and Head of Product roles, delivered as an external partner rather than a permanent hire. When you need a Fractional Managing Director, a Head of Product, or an interim Programme Director for a specific stretch, this is the shape.
What I Do
Delivery work is defined by outcome, sequenced by risk, and staffed by the smallest team that can actually ship. My job is to run it, not to grow the headcount around it. Every engagement is scoped to a specific launch, transformation, or programme.
Product and project delivery engagements include:
AI transformation programmes, from pilot through to production
AI product introduction into existing SaaS, media, or enterprise operations
Product launches: roadmap execution, go-to-market, and launch day
Cross-functional delivery across engineering, product, and operations
Market-entry projects run as a programme rather than a side initiative
Streaming, video-tech, and SaaS delivery mandates
Software development team coordination when the delivery is software-driven
Vendor and partner coordination across borders
Marketing and sales enablement across product, revenue, and comms teams
Product launch PR and international media strategy, from teaser to launch to post-launch coverage
Post-launch stabilization and handover to the internal team
When the programme touches legal, finance, marketing, PR, sales, or software development, I bring in trusted specialists from my international network. One point of contact, coordinated delivery. That includes M&A and exit preparation when the delivery is about getting the company to a strategic milestone.
Engagements are scoped and priced as a fixed fee against a defined outcome. There are no hourly rates.
How I Work
Most product launches and transformation programmes don't fail because the strategy was wrong. They fail because execution stalls. Decisions get delayed, cross-functional coordination breaks down, and the team defaults to what's comfortable rather than what's necessary. A dedicated programme leader in the room, with authority to call decisions and stay accountable, is often the difference between a shipped launch and a slipped one.
Fractional and interim delivery leadership compresses the risk. Faster time-to-launch. Cleaner cross-team handoffs. Fewer post-launch fires. Better handover to the internal team. And for AI-driven programmes specifically, the pace of change makes external programme leadership almost mandatory. Nobody running a company can also be the programme director of every AI initiative inside it.
Why It Matters
A missed launch window does not only cost the launch. It costs the quarter the launch was supposed to fund, the team's belief that dates mean something, and the market position someone else takes while you are still coordinating.
The usual fix is to hire a programme director. That takes months to recruit, months to onboard, and commits you to a permanent role for a temporary problem. The alternative is someone who has run this before, starts in week one, and whose job includes making the role unnecessary by the end of it.
For AI programmes the calculation is sharper. The technology moves faster than a hiring cycle, and the person running it needs to have shipped something recently, not read about it.
What You Can Expect
Companies working with Szel & Partners on product and project delivery typically see:
On-time, on-scope product launches and programme completions
Faster AI product introduction into existing operations
Cleaner cross-functional coordination across product, engineering, and go-to-market
Reduced dependency on the founder or CEO for day-to-day delivery decisions
Better vendor and partner relationships across borders
A stronger internal team after handover than before we started
Integrated product-launch PR and international media presence coordinated with the delivery timeline
Delivery is measured by what shipped, not by what was proposed. The engagement is scoped so the outcome is testable, and the handover leaves the company operating better than the day we started.
